Provisional Psychologist

Monica has a warm, compassionate and empathic style, creating a safe environment for people to express and understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Monica works collaboratively to craft an ecliptic evidence-based care plan specific to each person’s needs and aspirations for change within their life context. 

Monica is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and an ARPHA registered Psychologist (Provisional) holding postgraduate degrees in psychology from the University of New England and Bond University on the Gold Coast. She is currently completing her internship after a  career in emergency services and health care as a critical care paramedic and Director within the Queensland Department of Health. Her practice is also informed by post graduate degrees in education, business and health science.

Utilising a variety of contemporary models and therapeutic frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), mindfulness and trauma-based interventions, Monica supports adults experiencing anxiety, stress,  depression, grief and loss, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and chronic pain. Monica is passionate about accepting human diversity, respecting people’s lived experiences, and supporting your unique journey to wellness.

Monica is available on Thursdays, Fridays and Monday mornings, she is currently accepting new clients.
